Homecoming Parade
The homecoming parade will begin this Friday at 5:30, starting at the High School on South Washington St. (the parade will queue along the east side of the High School). The parade will move east on W. South Street, then they will head north on S. Church Street, then moving west on Clinton St, and then finally moving south on S. Youngs street to finish up near the High School Football Stadium.

Homecoming Dance Tickets
Dance tickets go on sale Monday September 14! They will be available at both lunches for $15 each. Tickets may only be purchased for individual’s 9th grade - 20 years of age. If you plan on bringing a guest from another school, please obtain a guest form at the ticket table and get it back to the main office no later than Thursday September 24. Only students of high
school age -20 will be permitted at the dance.

MAKE-UP SENIOR MEETING
A make-up Senior Meeting is being offered for any seniors that missed last week’s meeting (this includes Virtual seniors!).  Please plan to come to the Athletics Commons at 9:00am on Thursday, September 24, during your 2nd hour.  Counselors will assist you with starting college applications and financial aid applications. Please plan to bring your charged laptop and charger with you.

Lifeguard Certification Course
Dates:

·  Friday, Oct. 2 – 3:30–6:00 PM

·  Saturday, Oct. 3 – 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

·  Sunday, Oct. 4 – 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

Some online coursework must be completed before the in-person sessions.
Training and certification will be provided — no experience necessary!

FINE ARTS

Winter Musical
What is the Musical this year? Come to the HPAC at 3:05 on Wednesday October 7th to find out at the Musical Launch Party! The presentation will last only 5 mins. Audition music and information will be available there, but you can always get it from Mr. Moore in the Choir Room at your convenience. Everyone is welcome to come find out about our show this year!

Leading up to the Launch Party, come to the Choir Room for the first two reveals at 3:05 on Wednesday September 23 and Thursday October 1. See you at the reveals and Launch Party!

Band
10 Bands competed at the Trenton Invitational in Detroit on Saturday. Our Hasting Saxons came out on top over all classes as Grand Champions! 

On top of earning the highest honors at the competition, they took first place in Class B along with Best Music and Best Percussion for the class.

Weather pushed the performance inside, which meant no Guard or Visual awards were given today, but the energy was fantastic from start to finish. It’s a great day to be a Saxon!

Interact Club / Blood Drive
Donate Blood, Save Lives!

The Interact Club is hosting the first blood drive of the school year on Monday, September 28, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Aux Gym. Students must be at least 16 years old to donate. Donors who are 16 years old must have a completed parent/guardian consent form, available in the office. All eligible donors will receive a Versiti water bottle and sticker pack while supplies last. RESULTS from coaches

Tennis
On Tuesday, the Boys Tennis Team hosted TK. The doubles team of Francis Laponsie and Cody Garms won their match 8-6. On Wednesday, the team traveled to Marshall. Owen Boge came from behind to beat Coldwater in a tiebreaker and then beat Marshall in a convincing 6-1 win. The doubles team of Greg Rutkowski and Brendon Rabideau played two solid matches but we're unable to convert. 

Girls Golf
Hastings Girls Golf closed out the regular season in style at the I-8 Conference Championship, taking third with a score of 378 at Cedar Creek. Junior Lilli Edger led the Saxons with an 85, finishing fourth individually — her seventh top finish of the season. It capped off a big year for Edger, who was named to the All-Conference team, while Sophie Pohja earned All-Conference Honorable Mention. Ryann-Lynn Cole also had a milestone round, breaking 100 for 18 holes for the first time in her career. Add it all up, and Hastings finished third in the I-8 Conference for the season — a great note to carry into regionals.
