The Kiwanis Club of Hastings is once again proud to present its monthly Young Citizenship Award to outstanding fifth graders from each elementary school, as well as two students from each grade level at the Middle School.
These students exemplify quality conduct in their everyday lives and excel in areas such as character, service, sportsmanship, academics, and leadership.
Congratulations to the September award recipients. Look for them in this week's Hastings Banner. Great work, everyone!

Barry Intermediate School District is asking voters this November to consider a Regional Enhancement Millage. This proposal would generate local funds through property tax to directly support educational and career-readiness programs for all students and school districts within the ISD — including Hastings Area Schools.

As we await finalization of the state budget, we want to provide clarity for our families regarding school breakfast and lunch. Following recent action by our Board of Education, we are pleased to share that, regardless of state-level decisions, our district will continue to provide free breakfast and lunch for all students through December 2025.
Further information about meal program plans beyond that date will be communicated as it becomes available.
We value the importance of ensuring every student has access to these nutritious meals, and we are grateful for the opportunity to continue offering this support to our school community.

We're excited for Game On!, an activity-based fundraiser that promotes teamwork, physical activity, and healthy living, while raising funds for school improvements and equipment. It kicks off tomorrow. Keep an eye out for information!

Mrs. Saunders joins us this year as a Middle School Special Education teacher. We're so excited to have her on board! Welcome!

Last week, we had our first PRIDE store of the year where students got to spend their hard earned PRIDE tickets! Students earn tickets for following directions, showing kindness, working hard and more.
Thank you so much for the donations that have come in so far. Our students were so excited about the yummy treats that were available to choose from. We will need more as the year goes on as well!
