Geography Bee

Open to all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. The Geography Bee is an annual competition sponsored in part by the National Geographic Society. We start with class/team competitions in December or early-January. Then we have a school wide finals in late January. One finalist then competes at the state level by taking a written test. The school-wide finals usually draws about 60 finalists. Everyone gets certificates, and finalists' pictures are in the yearbook. The winner receives a medal.
